David Keathly is a Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Advisor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of North Texas. He is one of the principal architects of the new BA in Information Technology degree program and is also the Director of the UNT Robocamp Summer Program. His teaching and research interests are in Computational Epidemiology, Data Visualization, Image Processing and Computer Vision and High Performance Computing.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

He holds a BS and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, and is currently a PhD Candidate in Computer Science and Engineering at UNT. While at OSU he received numerous awards including induction as a Knight of Saint Patrick.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Mr. Keathly has been a member of the faculty at UNT since September of 2004. Prior to joining UNT, he founded and managed four different consulting and training organizations, including Kornerstone Knowledge, Inc and Cyber Dimensions, Inc. as well as teaching as a part-time faculty member for the University of Phoenix, DeVry University, Collin County Community College, Western International University and the University of Texas at Dallas. He has over 23 years of software and integrated systems development experience as a consultant as well as on the engineering staff at Merit Technology, Comar, Inc., LTV Missiles and Electronics and IBM Federal Systems Division at NASA. David is a Senior Member of the IEEE, as well as a member of ASEE and the ACM. He has been recognized for outstanding service to the College of Engineering at UNT, Outstanding Faculty Advisor by the UNT Student Life Office, and was a Student Government Association Honors Professor. David also holds a US patent in Image Processing.
